Resistance Fighter's Story
I’m a resistance fighter™

Combating antimicrobial resistance (AMR)

Young resistance fighters empower their community to combat AMR. As a youth-led organization based in Tanzania, we are young resistance fighters who are focused on disease prevention, health promotion and community empowerment. Through our Dawa Zangu program (which means “My Medicine” in Swahili), we education patients about AMR. We started by collaborating with health workers to educate young people who are living with HIV and report poor adherence to ARVs. We then expanded our work to reach millions of listeners through a radio program that educates the general public about drug-resistant infections. Next, we plan to launch a health intervention to raise awareness AMR awareness among animal keepers. Because all of us need to be resistance fighters.
