Combating antimicrobial resistance (AMR)
Developing treatments for drug-resistant infections can only be done in partnership. At GARDP, we bring together resources and the best available expertise and innovation from governments, industry, academia and civil society to develop new and improved treatments. We also work to ensure sustainable access, promoting responsible use and affordability. As a physician and Executive Director of GARDP, I believe in developing treatments for unmet clinical needs, rather than just developing drugs. I believe we must help those most in need, including the elderly, young and vulnerable populations. We must ensure everyone, everywhere, has access to antibiotic treatments in an appropriate and sustainable manner. Working together – and only together – this is possible. Because all of us need to be resistance fighters.
