Combating antimicrobial resistance (AMR)
I have been working to combat AMR for the last 25 years. I come from Denmark, a country with very low resistance levels and successful containment of antimicrobial resistance. However, I’m fully aware of how big the problem is internationally. I am very happy to be part of the Interdisciplinary Solutions for AMR Center, which will be founded in Denmark and will support middle- and lower-income countries. We know there is a large influx of antimicrobial-resistant organisms coming from all over the world, which we all come in contact with when we are traveling, when our food is traveling and so on. AMR is an increasing problem that needs an international solution. Because all of us need to be resistance fighters.
