Combating antimicrobial resistance (AMR)
Antimicrobial resistance is a prototypical example of a global One Health issue—impacting the health sectors of humans, animals, plants, and our shared environment. Unfortunately, in some instances, the approach to addressing and studying AMR is narrowly focused on optimizing the outcomes of just one sector, while ignoring or underestimating the consequences of policy derived from efforts in other sectors. NIAMRRE is bridging all four sectors to foster collaborative discussions on working collectively to optimize the health outcomes for all while mitigating the development of antimicrobial resistance. Because all of us need to be resistance fighters.
