Resistance Fighter's Story
I’m a resistance fighter

Combating antimicrobial resistance (AMR)

As Director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CIDRAP) at the University of Minnesota, I know that the best science in the world isn’t worth much unless it translates into effective policies and practices. This is a primary reason why we established the Antimicrobial Stewardship Project at CIDRAP. Antimicrobial resistance is a critical global problem that transcends political boundaries. And we will be able to effectively address it only through global collaboration and the translation of our research into consequential policies and practices. Without improved antimicrobial stewardship, resistance will become a greater killer worldwide than either heart disease or cancer. We must work every day to prevent this outcome. Because all of us need to be resistance fighters.
