Resistance Fighter's Story
I’m a resistance fighter™

Combating antimicrobial resistance (AMR)

If we are not careful, we will soon be in a post-antibiotic era. And for some patients and for some microbes, we are already there. As a laboratory director, I am committed to reporting and analyzing critical data to inform patient care, regional data collection and policy recommendations. Studying temporal changes in resistant pathogens causing healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) is crucial in improving local antimicrobial and infection control practices. Until we become better stewards of antibiotics, both in human medicine and in livestock production, these life-saving drugs will continue to become less effective and the effectiveness of any future antibiotics will be at constant risk. Because we all need to be resistant fighters.
