Combating antimicrobial resistance (AMR)
As a Pediatric Infectious Diseases Specialist, we see an increase in infections with bacteria resistant to antimicrobial drugs. This is very important for us because the situation in children should be considered as a reflection of adults. It is in our hands to prevent or at least delay the development of antimicrobial resistance. Accurate and rapid diagnosis, rational use of antibiotics and prevention of infections before its development are key points. In order to leave a better future to our children, the most important thing we have to do is to prevent the development of antimicrobial resistance, this is our responsibility.
