Resistance Fighter's Story
I’m a resistance fighter

Combating antimicrobial resistance (AMR)

Right Sudan is a big country with 18 states, more than 1,800 tribes and 700 local languages. Addressing TB is a big challenge as it is difficult to reach all parts of the country and raise community awareness about TB. The stigma associated with TB is also a big challenge. In Sudan we have a saying that it is better to ask and learn from people who have experienced the disease than to ask the doctor. That is why in my organization we focus on TB survivors and train them to tell their stories about how they tackled TB. Through them we are able to provide education to other TB patients, to convince them to get care at the health centers and to continue their medication. Because all of us need to be resistance fighters.
