Resistance Fighter's Story
I’m a resistance fighter™

Combating antimicrobial resistance (AMR)

As a public health worker, I am a resistance fighter. Antimicrobial resistance is widely acknowledged as a public health threat, which accounts for millions of deaths per year, but its magnitude is not well understood, especially in Africa. As a public health worker for the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, I am a resistance fighter. I have made it my personal responsibility to work to bridge the significant gaps in AMR surveillance, to advocate for policy change and to push for more political commitments to combat this growing threat to public health. Because all of us need to be resistance fighters.
