Combating antimicrobial resistance (AMR)
I believe that governments must make AMR a priority both at a national and global level based on principles of shared responsibility and global solidarity. There is a need to invest in training, education and scaling diagnostics not only at a country level but also at a regional level. We need global laboratory networks to identify and share the resistance data. Resistant bugs can transcend borders and therefore I say that there is a need for collective action because patients depend on us. Governments, health agencies, industry and civil society should all work together. Because all of us need to be resistance fighters.
